For anyone who's curious here's the bit corresponding to the spectrogram.
(AFAICT there are no built in tools to trim audio on iOS. The voice recorder lives in its own pocket universe. There's iMovie but I couldn't find any way to create a project from a .wav file. In the end I downloaded an app called Audio Trimmer.)
