Well I never laid out what the argument was wrt Elon/twitter. Which is that "we need to bring in the top 0.1% tech talent to beat china" is the motte, and "we need no limits on the H1B program" is the bailey. I think it's appropriately applied for that. My point was that Elon got so much pushback that he abandoned the H1B topic altogether and chose to take up the most defensible issue he could think of to win back some clout.
