Antifa and leftists have been protesting over the electoral successes of the right-wing AfD party in the German states of Thuringia (first place) and Saxony (a close second place).
Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a Social Democrat whose party performed poorly in those states, is urging all parties to refuse to partner with the AfD to govern.
