Essentially all Nostr features could be implemented in Twitter.
Twitter could still do it, and also turn Twitter into a gargantuan Nostr relay and basically swallow Nostr — all incentives would be aligned with everyone using the single most popular relay.
What Twitter can’t do is control the Lightning Network.
LN is the big story here.
