The 1947 UN Partition Plan was a 'fiat' move, and I am not a fan of fiat. It was heavily influenced by Zionist lobbists. At that time nations considered this influence to be blackmail, immoral and underhanded (shocking I know because nobody has these kinds of morals today). The following countries therefore announced that the Zionists were blackmailing them: USA, India, Liberia, Philippines, Haiti, France, Venezuela, Cuba and Siam. The plan was a violation of the UNs own charter's clause on national self-determination, and one which Palestine not only rejected but announced it would take all necessary measures to defend itself. Subsequently, after a civil war, Zionist forces implemented Plan Dalet (planned ahead of time) which the Palestinians call the Nakba. Essentially it was ethnic cleansing.

And you say the Arabs started it.
