It took me a sec, then I realized that I was likely the only masked person she'd seen in a while. In other words, the lab tech--in an actual medical clinic full of "patients"--initially found my masking suspicious, rather than a protective measure for myself.
Also, my house sale is nearing closure, and I've been amazed that no one's asked why I have a purifier running.
