My maltese saw a herd of deer across the street and bolted towards them. She went right up to a huge doe that got into a defensive stance and stomped its hoof. The maltese spun away from this in a circle that it does when it's playing and ended up closer to the deer. The dog was standing in an alert position ready to "play" again. As I got closer she came back to me and the deer walked slowly away. The doe actually bought time for her fawn to move out. I swear malteses don't understand size
