I think you give the Israeli government entirely too much credit. The ruling clique there couldn't keep the lights on without direct and indirect subsidies from other cliques based in the West.

Re thinking non-Jews don't matter, on Nostr its easy to lose sight of the fact many people want to be used as tools, and are happy to believe themselves to be second-class humans as long as they can scorn somebody else as third-class.

But that requires the "first-class" to keep winning, publicly even if not profitably. That is the value Israel brings to the big table. Or should I say, brought.
