LFP isn't new, per se, nor can it charge/discharge faster than standard NMC or NCA, as far as my educational resources can determine. Energy density is 14% lower while weight is roughly the same. The only advantages would be no cobalt, 6% lower cost per MWh, a 67% longer cycle life and reduced fire risk. It's basiclly a lithium battery.
