The reason he fucked up his set up is dev overconfidence (see Engineers Syndrome). You can see the same behaviour being displayed by Core devs right now. Luke may have been right most of the time but he’s still human. Core devs hold no moral or technical superiority over him just because he lost his bitcoin. He fucked himself but core devs might fuck us all.
