My kid is leaving San Diego this afternoon, and shift-driving through the night with two friends to Junction, Texas, and the path of totality. They will arrive at 8:00am local time, get breakfast at Donut Palace, watch the eclipse, and then get back in the car to drive home, arriving at 4:00am, with just enough time to hose off 38 hours of stench and go into work.
It sounds awful and awesome and it makes me want to be 22 again so bad.
