fiatjaf (npub180c…h6w6) jb55 (npub1xts…kk5s) is there any NIP or proposals about a data backup system?
I believe the users should be able to get their data from the relays to store them offline: any kind of event signed with their private keys that was shared to the relays imo should be available as a downloadable JSON, including Followers and Follows.
This would be useful for example in case of a migration.
Let's say a user is connected to a couple of free relays and decides to subscribe to a paid relay, which, as per internal rules, is isolated from the rest of Nostr.
Then some of the users, including our user decide to leave for a different relay and to "bring" with them the notes and the followings/followers list.
Another example could be application of the right to be forgotten: a user might want to download a copy of the signed notes before asking the relays to apply NIP-09 or NIP-40.
Is it something you think should exist in the near future?
