To build on it, I think that kids who had more time to experience “boredom” and flex the muscle of developing interests and focusing their energies growing up, benefit from those experiences as an adult.
Of course that requires the luxury of time. And, if you have time, also requires that you have a parent that doesn’t try to project what they want into their child with endless extracurriculares and activities.
