There is a massive EU machine that controls too many EU citizens through controlled media and propaganda. Although far from a perfect party, the rise of the AfD is promising, despite the resistance from the incumbent powers.
Russia is currently being used as an excellent "Barbarian at the Gate" to get the NPC army to focus on, rather than focus on the enemies within.
Unfortunately pro-EU forces continued to control the UK after they voted for Brexit, despite the massive pro-EU propaganda campaign leading up to the vote.
The UK had to be prevented from succeeding at all costs, so as not to create an EU-exit domino effect.
Look to Ireland's vote on the Lisbon Treaty, when they initially voted incorrectly, so had to vote again.
Look at Romania, having its elections cancelled due to the leading candidate being a threat to the EU.
It's an uphill battle, but we must fight against the Socialism and centralised power of the EU, and the first move is getting our nations' sovereignty back. Unlike the fight of the Soviets, the Elites have a much tighter grip on peoples' minds. But we should not give up on our homelands, where many of us have very deep roots and connections. Leaving feels like giving up on that, and the social harmony that has evolved there.
