These months are funny I notice a lot of people around me spiral (holiday depression), then hustle to fix things in these months, with January being a big kicker, like New Year’s resolutions. It sounds like it must be serious tho. Some things just suck to deal with when you’re trying to have a deeper friendship/relationship. Addiction, depression, lack of care/effort for what you’re asking. Yeah, sounds like they want to stay on the hamster wheel and you don’t. It’s ok to move on. It suck’s and it’s really hard when you’re empathetic.
