New Brunswick has a new law that disallows teachers from calling students by their chosen name without parental consent.
Does that mean Frederick will have to get permission to be called Fred?
Does that mean teachers will actually learn how to pronounce names like Qiang Wang, in the right order, instead of an unwanted anglicized nickname?
No and no. The law is transphobic. It's about imposing abusive morality. It has absolutely nothing to do with parental rights.
