I'm going to give this a month to play out, the surgery to take the cancer out is planned regardless so that's good.
There's really a few options:
1. Insurance says "chill bro, we pay".
2. I (ab)use my Dutch insurance by temporarily moving back and get it done there.
3. If my Japanese visa comes through, I can do it there.
4. If push comes to shove, I _should_ be able to pay for it out of pocket, after which I'll hound my insurance until they're either dissolved or I expire at 103y/o.
