this may sound paranoid, but if I don't want something discoverable, I don't post it anywhere public at all. I certainly haven't gotten death threats, but I've had my share of internet stalkers over the years (mostly on usenet, ages ago).

And since I'm an old codger, who isn't used to using hashtags, I don't feel strongly if someone wants to tag my posts. (I think I'm not popular enough for that to happen anyway.)
