When I was doing DNS stuff (not so long ago) we used the geography based ones to see if users in Europe were likely to be getting different info from users in Asia.
They were pretty reliable according to our probes.
Of course, now most people use one of the major services (8.8.8.8, Quad9, Cloudflare) this is less of an issue.
