AMD would totally kill it if they designed a processor that can have a separate fetch->(decode)->execute process mode configurable per core, which could enable them to run ARM64 code in some cores side by side with x64 code in others.
As a matter of fact, I should try to do a very basic proof of concept of this idea on FPGA to see if it has legs. Maybe an 8-bit processor with two cores can demo the idea.
