This pretty much takes Belkin/Wemo off my list of approved vendors for smart home kit. (Sadly it’s not a long list to start)

You can’t just say, “Oh, that’s almost end of life. We’re not patching vulnerabilities.” Not with smart home gear that will certainly be in use 5-10 years from now in millions of homes.
This is going to be a big problem as we move more and more things to “Smart.” Companies need to learn that supporting discontinued equipment is a necessity.
