Welp, I’ve reached the end of my year-long commitment to posting a song or album released on this day #OTD.
About a month after joining Mastodon, I decided to commit to posting something every day, around the same time, and focused on the music I love. I wanted something manageable, but somewhat unique and personalized. A brief commentary on an album or song that was released each day was a perfect fit.
I learned a lot by revisiting each release, reading multiple sources to ensure I got (most of) the facts right, and then listening to the album while I recalled my experience hearing it for the first time.
But by far the best part is all the great comments I’ve received. So many people with interesting, first hand stories of seeing bands, getting albums upon release, and much more. I love the community that’s developed around music here. ❤️
Anyway, I’ll still post the occasional #OTD comment going forward. Music sharing is what I do here, for better or worse, lol. Just not every day.
