There is a significant element of the GOP that are proto-fascists or worse, who cheer mentions of locking up political opponents for the crime of having an opposing political philosophy, who endorse those who describe people as "vermin" and talk of "immigrants poisoning the blood" of this country. Stop and let that sink in. This is the language of Hitler, of Mussolini, and others whom our grandparents and great grandparents fought to defeat to preserve democracy.
