One of the HomeKit features I never realized would be very cool is having a smart thermostat. We did a HVAC update to a heat pump nearly two years ago and I set simple rules. We never have to turn on, up, off, or down the thermostat. We all went out last night to dinner and the Home system tracks when nobody is at home (local data only, secured) and used the "everyone away" rule. We walk on, heat kicks on. Truly, the future.
