I had an instructor pronounce my last name almost the way a Mandarin speaker would say it while taking roll call for a class one time. I heard my first name followed by someone else’s last name. I thought to myself, “Wow, there’s another Sheldon here?”
When he repeated the name again because nobody answered, I realized I was the one he was calling.
