I personally saw nothing bad, but I follow quite limited people, I don't follow many tags and I don't use the Local or Federated timelines.
The only bad thing I saw was some spam, but that's going to happen on any instance with open registrations, they just went for the largest target first.
I think the wider you cast your social net, the more likely you are to see bad stuff, on any instance.
