How about this theory? Powell had to wait to raise rates until he was officially reappointed in April 2022. Once he was secure in another term he knew that he had to raise rates like crazy and keep raising them until he could force Congress and the Treasury to get their spending under control. He is "independent" and is always very careful to say that he has no say in how the Congress and the Treasury spend money, but he knows that at some point he has to kill this spending bonanza which is the source of all our inflationary woes. Is Jay Powell the savior of the United States? I truly believe that he is on a mission from God! #gojaypowell #inflation
