Ultramarine Linux, KDE Plasma edition, is good enough for your grandma to use.
I have a family member, who became mildly incompetent, after they experienced a stroke, and they use, Linux. They have virtually no tech skills, and could not use the terminal if their life depended on it, but they're using Linux just fine.
So in summary, yes, there is better out there.
