On a whim, I hunted down a live 1967 video of The Who playing "My Generation". It begins tight as a drum, then around 1:43 turns into the sort of carefully-staged chaos they were known for
keith moon shifting from "playing the beat" into a "just doing a nonstop drum roll" and then toppling his drums, while pete townsend smashes his guitar
my thought was: How does townsend *do* that?
I own a stratocaster; they're build like *tanks*. I'm not sure I *could* smash mine
