the problem is knowing which cache has what.
one thing I have aleays thought of though is for relays to keep the content of who the users of said relay follow, because they might be interested in reading it even if they get temporarily censored (not for others to access)
I feel like people having relays that handle fetching content for them + that they can *easily switch* may be the future for less bandwidth/power usage on nostr
