Trying to think of when background video drops became an integral part of a music show. At a low level, here’s my take, on a real sporadic timeline…
- Pink Floyd: first to make a part of their live show.
- Butthole Surfers: took it to the next level. Weaponized it*, in some cases.
- Ministry: This was an obvious move for them.
* BHS showed a medical school penis reconstruction video after it was mangled in a concubine. Except it was in reverse, to the horror of every male in eyeshot.
