Across LinkedIn & business commentary, rises in the minimum wage & employers NI (as well as other tax changes) are being presented as likely to cause a decline in employment & an exodus of entrepreneurs.
The difficulty this argument is businesses have often failed to invest, continued to depend on low-wage workers for profits & productivity has stagnated.
Much of the private sector has shown little interest in building a better UK economy, so now the state might as well have a go....
