A bill that is being processed in the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) aims to implement the Index of Quality of Service Assessment (IAQA) in the Specialized Women's Assistance Delegations in the country's capital. According to the author of Bill 1710/25, Deputy Robério Negreiros (PSD), the tool will be crucial for promoting sensitivity and effectiveness in the support provided to women victims of violence in the DF. The parliamentarian argues that the index emerges as a transparency and accountability instrument, allowing the population to have knowledge about the quality of service provided in the specialized delegations for women's assistance. 'Continuous evaluation of the service is essential to ensure that women's rights are respected and they feel encouraged to report', explains Negreiros. The idea is to conduct the evaluation semi-annually through a satisfaction survey with women who have been assisted in the delegations. The index will be composed of indicators such as waiting time for service, level of confidentiality and sensitivity during the service, and information on legal procedures. According to Negreiros, violence against women is a structural issue that requires a state response to not only curb this practice but also provide a welcoming and safe space for victims to seek protection and justice. Therefore, he adds, the index, by evaluating and monitoring the support provided to women seeking assistance, will also ensure that the delegations comply with norms of welcome, respect, empathy, and efficiency. 'An environment that values the quality of service is a crucial factor for victims' confidence in seeking help', affirms the author of the project.
