The #Bitcoin spam issue is complex, but IMO, using Bitcoin for real payments through self custody, P2P transactions, and a Bitcoin-based economy can help raise fees and reduce unnecessary data on the network. That said, it won’t get rid of all spam, especially when it comes to valuable data stored for Layer 2 solutions. High fees and adoption challenges also limit how much this can fix. Lightning is great for small payments, and simpler self custody tools help new users. But some data will always compete for space. I think a balance of on-chain and off-chain use is the best way forward.
