I just watched this young woman who clearly has just started a tech job recently and who has just gotten the chance to bring her family over to show them around Seattle.
Her father argued with her and his wife the whole time, berating his daughter and calling her a “caste traitor” for using going to school as a way to escape an arranged marriage. His wife tried to support her daughter but was shut down and he yelled at his daughter for enjoying American TV and working for “these American slobs”.
