Airborne Meshtastic nodes are being deployed in aircraft in North Carolina by freedom tech advocates to help locals communicate with each other.

It appears the less the federal government is involved the better operations run.

To me it seems distaster areas are turning into a land grab by those in power, using agencies like FEMA to do their dirty work. FEMA money is a loan, and if you don't pay it back they foreclose and sieze your land.
