No one is asking for the criminal's "side of the story". People do not want to hear someone glamorizing crime nor hear of their immoral acts against the family and nation ("people should not be allowed to run away from their parents or country", this is why getting a birth certificate and passport to escape requires the permission of the people and place you are escaping from, otherwise you are "illegal" and will be caught and returned).
No one wants to hear this. And this is something that affects my daily life, as almost everything requires ID nowadays and the loopholes and backdoors are getting closed. It is possible to hide my sins if the topic is purely based on tech or academics, but even in the context of crypto (KYC), my lack of government ID will be found out sooner or later.
I made the mistake of being open and obnoxious about this when I first made my accounts to advertise this article: https://vonupodcast.com/know-your-customer-kyc-the-rarely-discussed-danger-guest-article-audio/ This was wrong and I regret it. Deleting my accounts over the past months has made the Bitcoin/Monero communities a better and more productive place.
