Because unless you’re an expert in the field or willing to spend a lot of time you probably aren’t qualified to evaluate the correctness of the argument properly.
That all rings true to me. The intelligence/knowledge part of it just speaks to how extreme an idea can be for which you can make a convincing argument imo.
