Between subpoenas for content, storage costs, and a desire to distance himself from the Twitter brand I think there's a not-small chance Musk deletes all data pre-X rebranding, perhaps with the caveat that it's only for non-premium users (so he's not affected).
In fact I'll bet if catturd or someone else like that suggests it on the basis that it will make free users and bluehairs cry, he'll do it.
