Some of the brightest minds in tech fear that AI poses a greater threat than nuclear weapons. I don't fear AI annihilating us; my concern is the loss of our humanity. Consider how we use GPS apps: we mindlessly follow their directions, losing our capacity for independent decision-making. A generation raised on GPS doesn't know how to navigate without it. The real danger of "AI" - we risk becoming more dependent on machines than ourselves. More in my newsletter.
