Alexander wasn’t sure whether the baby needed her help or not. She thought that perhaps the bird had simply fallen down on a practice flight but would be able to fly away on their own.
But a day and a half later, the bird was still there. Alexander deduced that a strong wind must have knocked the owlet out of their nest. She knew the baby wouldn’t be able to survive there on their own much longer.
Alexander wanted to help, but she didn’t know what to do. She called a local bird rehabber, expecting that someone might come rescue the bird. But instead, they let her know that the best thing for the owl would be to try to reunite them with their family.
