So I found 16 gigs of ram in my bin of parts, a small sata ssd, and a Linux Mint usb drive.
30 minutes later, it was a completely different computer. Moved her files over and had her click around and use it.
She was AMAZED this was the same machine, AND said that "this #linux thing" is actually a lot cleaner and easier to use than Windows.
Thanks Open source and right to repair. Just added years to this machine
