Oh man, the Justice Thomas story gets better — I figured there was no real issue because SCOTUS has no ethical rules with teeth. As it happens, SCOTUS justices are in fact legally required to report gifts of this size. A sitting justice, who by the way has ruled on cases about similar reporting laws, has been openly violating federal law for a decade.
Will Roberts do anything? No. Will the Senate do anything? No.
