Any nostr poets here?! I’d love to read some poems! Maybe we can start a thread. I’m by no means a poet, but I’ll put one out there to see if I can bait anyone else to share!
This is one I wrote awhile back about how burnout feels:
At the end of the day
I try to reconnect with my body
And it feels foreign
My limbs are not my limbs
Hunger, exhaustion, pain
Are some other beings inconveniences
That I pay the price for,
And reap none of the gain
I live in my brain
I’m loved for my brain
If you can call it love.
My heart, my body, they suffer
And wither. As I move pixels
Around a screen. Debate
Plan, and set in motion things
That aren’t real. That don’t
Have the energy of the bees
Or the trees or bring me to my knees
But instead I’m left numb. Floating
Inside of a cell that is my skin
Deep inside, far from the surface
Unanchored, ungrounded
Isolated
You’ll never find me,
And I’ll never find my way out
A muted touch. Like a greeting given
In a world without enough air
To vibrate. It fades, as if never spoken at all.
It gets harder, coming back to myself
And it feels less and less like home
