In Vancouver (Yaletown), I once saw a man laying sprawled on the sidewalk, unconscious/dead from an OD.
He was blocking the door of a Starbucks.
A man wanted to go in and get a coffee, so he stepped over the sprawled body.
When he stepped over him, he juuuust brushed him with the top of his shoe. He stopped, carefully wiped his shoe off, and entered the shop.
Humanist solutions to the Pandemic need to reckon with these kinds of things.
