Hmmmm - as you read this, keep in mind my autistic tendencies & need for correctness. I understandably struggled with the L word for a long time & often avoided using it even though it was the correct word. The word has so many applications & meanings that it's almost lost some of it's usefulness, especially for an autist. 😆
It can be used to describe a strong desire or appreciation for someone or even some thing. But at what point does that desire shift from like to love? Where is the line between infatuation, being in love and loving?
As an emotion, I now equate it to the expansion of creation. The ever expanding consciousness that we sometimes experience & contribute to. The embracing of the unknown & all the possibilities that this represents. In this sense, it is the absolute diametric opposite to fear.
It is this latter understanding that allows me to love more frequently & unreservedly. To not be concerned with the reciprocation of love. To not reserve love for just my wife, family & close friends but to be able to be able to extend it to everything & everyone in this physical realm.
