They don't need to institute price controls; most food commodities are already returning to pre-pandemic levels; the federal reserve has hoovered up the excess monetary supply. This is purely political theatre that will do nothing but generate political brownie points and create justification for further retrogressive economic policies.
The vast majority of price increases in consumer goods is related to increased wages at the bottom. When Harris starts talking about increasing the federal minimum wage, then it's time to start really worrying about neoliberals shedding their skin and revealing their true colors.
