On the one hand, it’s a comfort to know that I live outside the legal authority of the United States government. So even if Trump wins, I and my family are safer than most American citizens.
However, that isn’t to say things are roses and handjobs up here. Our Tories are in ascendance, and they are only marginally better than Republicans. The only good news is that executive power is far more limited in Canada, and governments far more fragile - any situation that would cause a government shutdown in the US causes a new election in Canada instead.
