is this like a "gotcha" question? I glanced at the definition - and some examples - and it could be anything from reduced wind shear letting saplings have a chance on those faces, could be more wind blowing nutrients / seeds to more diverse areas, could be snow melt ratios.
What i do know is it has nothing to do with the temperature measurement locations having been rural and away from urban heat domes becoming ensconced in urban heat domes.
