Th 110+F heat has been felt around the garden. My beans are drying out a bit and the tips of the sorghum are brown, but there are a few that don't mind it at all. The purslane, after being attacked by a parasite, has rebounded great and this basil plant is going strong. It wants to bolt really bad though so I had to pull off some tips after this picture. I'm building the soil in this little area by putting rotting wood, different types of mulch, and I've been collecting different soil from my area and adding it into the mix. Hopefully I have some good fungal activity starting that I can transfer everywhere eventually! Not so bad for getting started in May in the Sonoran Desert during this crazy hot summer.

I actually planted some plants today believe it or not. It is monsoon season here so we are getting some cloud cover, and I planted them underneath the beans. It was a couple tomatoes and a couple peppers. Really I just wanted to get them out of the grow room into the soil to see how they will do but I have much stronger plants getting ready for when the temperatures come down. And this is my update from my desert micro-homestead. #grownostr #gronostr #homesteading #gardening #plants #nostr #sonorandesert #permaculture
